Clarification of News Report
This is to clarify the news article entitled “Conergy to build 50-MW Tarlac solar facility for PetroEnergy unit” posted in BusinessWorld Online on August 5, 2015. The article reported that:
“GERMANY’S Conergy AG has been tapped to build a 50-megawatt (MW) solar farm in Tarlac, which will serve as PetroEnergy Resources Corp.’s maiden venture into the sector.
In a statement yesterday, the photovoltaic solution and service provider said PetroSolar Corp., a unit of PetroEnergy, awarded the contract for the Tarlac solar power project.
The project will be built within a 55-hectare property near Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac City. Conergy said the installation will have a plant size of 550,003 square meters and can produce 78,070 MW-hour of power per year to some 31,700 households.
. . . .
This project will serve as the first collaboration between Conergy and PetroSolar, which is jointly owned by PetroEnergy’s renewable energy (RE) arm -- PetroGreen Energy Corp. (PGEC) and EEI Power Corp. (EEIPC).
. . . . ”
We confirm that PetroSolar (PetroSolar) Corporation has awarded to Conergy Asia & ME Pte. Ltd. the contract for the supply and construction of the solar plant for the 50 MW Tarlac Solar Power Project (TSPP) in Tarlac City. The TSPP is being developed through the Department of Energy (DOE)-awarded Solar Energy Service Contract (SESC) No. 2015-03-115. The SESC was originally awarded to PetroEnergy Corporation’s (PERC) subsidiary, PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC), which later on assigned the SESC to PetroSolar. PetroSolar is owned by PGEC (56%) and EEI Power Corporation (44%).
We trust that we have adequately addressed your concerns.
