Clarification of News Report
We refer to your letter dated March 3, 2017 with respect to the news article entitled “Filinvest, JG Summit eye Clark” posted in manilastandard.net on March 2, 2017. The article reported in part that: “Conglomerate Filinvest Development Corp. and JG Summit Holdings Inc. jointly submitted an unsolicited proposal to develop Clark International Airport, an official of the Transportation Department said Thursday. ‘It’s a submission by Filinvest and JG Summit,’ Transportation Undersecretary for aviation Roberto Lim said. Lim said the agency was currently evaluating the P187-billion Clark airport development project submitted by JG-Filinvest Group. . . . .” JG Summit Holdings, Inc. (JGS) confirms the statement quoted above with respect to the submission of an unsolicited proposal for the development and operation of Clark International Airport. However, JGS cannot confirm the statement made by Transportation Undersecretary for aviation Mr. Roberto Lim on the project cost amount.
