Background/Description of the Disclosure
Surigao del Norte, Philippines/May 24, 2017. Platinum Group Metals Corporation (PGMC), a subsidiary of Global Ferronickel Holdings, Inc. (FNI), reports that its business operations remain unhampered by the political crisis in Mindanao.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has declared martial law for a period of 60 days in Mindanao following clashes between government forces and the Maute Group in downtown Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. According to reports, the President’s priority is the safety and property of the people. Aware of the constitutional safeguards, business establishments are open and operating.
For its part, FNI assures its stakeholders that the PGMC mine in Surigao del Norte continues to meet its commitments even as it joins the country in wishing for a peaceful and speedy resolution of the conflict gripping the area.
