8990 CEO CLARIFICATION ON HIS RETIREMENT

Background/Description of the Disclosure

Following reports of 8990 CEO's retirement, Mr. Atencio issues the following clarification:

Some reports about my retirement as CEO seemed to convey the idea that 8990's success is just my legacy and that I am the "man responsible for turning 8990 Holdings into one of the nation's leading mass housing company".

The statement is rather embarrassing for me. When asked about my legacy, I evaded answering the question, and instead focused on the track record of 8990 and its growth story. The success of 8990 is not just mine but a collaborative effort, with the leadership and guidance of my business partners Luis Yu the founder of 8990 and Mariano Martinez our chairman, as well as the executives and staff all through these years. We all had a significant role in the growth of the company. By no means was I the only one responsible for the growth and success of 8990, and my legacy is to have been part of that growth story.

Also printed in the news was my statement that 8990 started as a small company that started 13 years ago with one project, 12 employees, and the gross revenue of 189 million.

For the record, in 2003, 8990's number of employees was actually 30 with four ongoing projects. The 1 project and 13 employees mentioned in my statement refers to how 8990 started in Davao City.

Also, 8990 Housing Development Corporation was established in 2003. I became its CEO in 2005.
