Clarification of News Report

This is to clarify the news segment entitled “PH construction firm vies for India airport project” published in Malaya Business Insight on August 11, 2017. The segment reported in part that:

“MEGAWIDE Construction Corp. has prequalified as contractor to develop and construct a passenger terminal in Mopa airport in North Goa, India.

Megawide said the company received confirmation last July 28 it has pre-qualified for the Mopa greenfield airport project with bidding slated this September.

If chosen, this will be Megawide’s first overseas infrastructure project.

The project has a total cost of $300 million. The engineering procurement construction (EPC) bid will include the construction of the passenger terminal building, air traffic control tower, and cargo facilities, among others.

The company is now preparing its submissions for the bid which will take place later this year. Saavedra disclosed, ‘We are compiling a very strong proposal. The design and methodologies are undergoing developments with a special consideration on the local conditions and materials.

Megawide is bullish about the continued expansion of its core construction business, and looks forward to participating in more large-ticket projects abroad. ‘We are exploring opportunities for EPC in other Asian countries. . . . “


We confirm that Megawide Construction Corporation (the “Company”) received confirmation that it prequalified as contractor to develop and construct a passenger terminal in Mopa airport in North Goa, India. The engineering procurement construction (EPC) bid will include the construction of the passenger terminal building, air traffic control tower, and cargo facilities, among others. The total cost of the project is approximately $300 million.

As confirmed by Mr. Saavedra, the Company is now preparing its submissions for the bid. It is compiling a very strong proposal which utilizes design and methodologies with special consideration on the local conditions and materials.

We further confirm that the Company is exploring opportunities for EPC in other Asian countries.
