Subject of the Disclosure

Disclosure Update on the Court of Appeals’ (CA) decision on the legality of Globe Telecom, Inc. and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company’s (PLDT) purchase of San Miguel’s telecommunication assets.

Background/Description of the Disclosure

This is an update to our earlier disclosure dated 23 October 2017 on the news article with regard to the Court of Appeals’ (CA) decision on the legality of Globe Telecom and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company’s (PLDT) purchase of San Miguel’s telecommunication assets. We wish to confirm that the CA affirmed, through a Notice of Decision dated 18 October 2017, the position of Globe Telecom and PLDT that the said transaction is deemed approved under Memorandum Circular No. 16-002 of the Philippine Competition Commission.
