We write in response to PSE’s request for news clarification about the Manila Standard.net article entitled “Sy, Tieng submit $12-b bid to build airport in Sangley”, where the article reported that:
“A group led by the Sy family and businessman Wilson Tieng submitted an unsolicited proposal to the government to build a $12-billion international airport in Sangley Point, Cavite.
Sangley Airport Infrastructure Group Inc., a consortium composed of Solar Group’s All-Asia Resources and Reclamation Corp. and the Sy family’s Belle Corp., said the Philippine Sangley International Airport was envisioned to be a regional airport hub that could accommodate about 120 million passengers a year once fully developed.
The consortium proposed a concession period of 50 years.
