Clarification of News Report

We write in response to your request for clarification and/or confirmation of the news article entitled “Petron eyes building 200 more service stations in 2018” posted in BusinessMirror (Internet Edition) on May 2, 2018. The article reported in part that:

“PETRON Corp. is eyeing to put up as many as 200 service stations this year to further cement its market share.

. . . .

He said Petron could open an additional 100 to 200 stations this year as against the 150 stations it put up in 2017.

‘We’re aiming the rollout across the archipelago. We’re trying to be present in all areas of the Philippines,’ he said.

We confirm that the statements attributed to Petron’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ramon S. Ang, and Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Emmanuel E. Eraña, as reported in the above-quoted article. Since 2009, Petron has embarked on a retail expansion program to make its premium products and services accessible to more consumers.
