We reply to your request for clarification on a news article entitled “LRWC unit eyes EOS block production” posted in Inquirer.net on 23 May 2018. The article reported in part that:
“The online gaming technology arm of Leisure & Resorts World Corp. (LRWC) has unveiled plans to be the Philippines’ first block producer for EOS, the world’s fifth most traded cryptocurrency.
LR Data Center & Solutions Inc. (LR Data)—whose team has more than 10 years of experience working with Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (Ceza) as an international gaming infrastructure operator—announced the launch of EOS Philippines, which aims to support the global network and infrastructure for EOS.
Among the distributed ledger technologies in the global digital space, LR Data is betting on EOS to become a true ‘retail blockchain.’ ‘With the launch of EOS Philippines, LR Data is at the forefront of infrastructure provisioning and supporting decentralization and democratization. Financial technology and blockchain is going to be a pillar of our business model moving forward,’ LR Data vice chair Enrique Gonzales said in a statement.
EOS is a blockchain-based, decentralized operating system designed to support commercial-scale decentralized applications by providing all the necessary core functionality, enabling businesses to build blockchain applications in a manner similar to that of web-based applications.

We would like to clarify the above-quoted news article:
LR Data Center and Solutions, Inc. (LR Data), a majority owned subsidiary of Leisure and Resorts World Corporation, is currently in discussion for a Cooperation Agreement with Francis Aguilar and a Technical Service Agreement with Fast Distributed Cloud Computing, Inc. in relation to the data center hosting and network operations of Blockchain Technology using EOS.
EOS is a distributed ledger technology platform which can be utilized in a number of ways, to include cryptocurrency, distributed applications and industrial blockchain. EOS is practically an outsourcing node operations and upkeep to interested parties, i.e. the community. In the EOS community, the host of the node is called a block producer (BP).
LR Data is already in the network and data center business, in its normal course of business, LR Data only intends to host an EOS node in the Philippines, thereby becoming a BP. As a BP, LR Data will provide the data center co-location, redundant and secure network operations, and customer service. For its services, LR Data will be paid a Hosting Fee. |
