Hiring of Senior Officers

Background/Description of the Disclosure

Please be advised that the Board of Directors, in its regular meeting today, approved the hiring of the following:

Mylene C. Subido - SVP, Head of Securities, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange Distribution effective December 1, 2021

Prior to joining EastWest Bank, Ms. Subido, worked at Accion Capital Management as an Executive Director responsible for developing and implementing overall investment strategies. She served four years with Bank of China building presence in the local market and strengthened business relations with local financial institutions of the bank. She has also worked at Security Bank Corporation as Senior Vice President and Head of Fixed Income Securities Distribution. She led the sales group which maximizes synergy with Treasury and Investment Banking for customer service and profitability. In addition, she worked with Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp (HSBC) as Senior Vice President and Head of Institutional Accounts and Wealth Management where she managed institutional accounts on their balance sheet management and financing needs.

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Accounting, Master’s in Business Administration and Master of Early Childhood Education from De La Salle University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Atty. Amy Belen R. Dio – FVP, Chief Compliance Officer effective December 1, 2021

Atty. Dio was formerly Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of BPI Family Savings Bank (BFSB) and head of the Compliance Division (“Compliance”) for five years since 2016. She reorganized Compliance from a team of four to a team of 22 officers, overseeing a risk-based compliance monitoring program in partnership with business units, which contributed to the continued growth of the bank’s retail business. Prior to Compliance, she held various positions in the parent Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), where she was assigned roles and responsibilities in branches, retail loans operations (post-booking customer services), loans collection, foreclosure, asset recovery, and ROPA management.

Atty. Dio started in 1981 with the Branches Group of CityTrust Banking Corporation (“CityTrust”), a Citibank N.A. subsidiary, where she rose to Asst. Vice President in ten years. While in CityTrust, she worked in branches sales, service management, budget and planning, and in productivity projects with consultants engaged by Citibank N.A. When CityTrust merged with BPI in 1996, she became sales cluster head for North Makati branches and later, chief of staff of the Branches Group head and concurrent head of branch rules and policy, where she was given oversight of branches' performance management and post-merger activities of branches acquired by BPI. Throughout her banking career, Atty. Dio received two personal service excellence awards, the highest recognition awarded by CityTrust and BPI, and led her teams to numerous excellence awards.

Atty. Dio is a member of the Philippine Bar. She finished economics (Honors Program) at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1981 and received her law degree from the University of the Philippines in 1987.
