Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) diversifies into data centers with global partner EdgeConneX.
Background/Description of the Disclosure
AIC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV), entered into an agreement with EdgeConnex, a global provider of full range sustainable data center solutions, to form two (2) joint venture companies for the purpose of building, operating, and maintaining a platform of data center facilities in the Philippines. The partnership aims to address the rising data usage in the Philippines by developing a data center platform that will house cloud service providers’ information technology (IT) equipment, enabling them to better support the Philippine market by leveraging on the global data center platform and customer relationships of EdgeConnex, complemented with the local expertise and infrastructure portfolio of AIC.
