Clarification of News Report
Disclosure We submit our reply in compliance with the Philippine Stock Exchange's request for clarification/confirmation on the below statements in the news article posted by manilastandard.net on Feb. 17, 2023, quoted as follows: "PetroWind seeks ERC nod on P257-m Aklan power line Petrowind Energy Inc. is seeking the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission to develop the P257-million point-to-point transmission facility to connect its 13.2-megawatt Nabas 2 wind project in Aklan to the transmission line of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines. PWEI, a subsidiary of Yuchengco-owned PetroEnergy Resources Corp., said in its application the interconnection facilities would directly connect the Nabas 2 project to the 13.2-megawatt Nabas-AVON-Caticlan substation overhead transmission line of NGCP through the 4-km 69kV transmission line of PWEI and the proposed common switchyard of Nabas 1 and Nabas 2. PWEI said ERC’s issuance of a provisional authority is “urgently needed to enable Petrowind to achieve the target commercial operations of Nabas 2 wind power project by September 2023.” “Petrowind respectfully submits that the dedicated facility project is the only viable option for connecting the Nabas 2 wind power project as detailed in the system impact study,” the company said."
We confirm that in connection with the development and construction of its 13.2MW Nabas-2 Wind Power Project (Nabas-2), PetroWind Energy Inc. (PWEI) filed its "Application for Authority to Development, Own and/or Operate the Dedicated Point-to Point Transmission Facilities to Connect the 13.2MW Nabas-2 Wind Power Project to the Transmission Line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines with Prayer for Provisional Authority and/or Interim Relief and Motion for Confidential Treatment of Information" with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on 18 January 2023. In relation to the aforementioned news article, we would like to clarify that September 2023 is not the target commercials operations date for Nabas-2, but rather, the date that PWEI prays for Provisional Authority for the ERC to allow the construction of the dedicated point-to-point transmission facilities. The target commercial operations date for the Nabas-2 project is by 2nd Quarter of 2024.
