18 March 2025, Mandaluyong City - In line with the Corporation’s previous disclosure on 4 December 2024, where we shared the Board of Directors' approval for the application of a Solar Energy Operating Contract (SEOC), we are pleased to announce that the Department of Energy (DOE) has granted Basic Energy Corporation a Certificate of Authority (COA) for the Mariveles Solar Power Project.
Issued under the revised Omnibus Guidelines Governing the Award and Administration of Renewable Energy Contracts (effective June 2024), the COA empowers Basic Energy Corporation to begin securing the necessary permits and tenure instruments required for the project. This certificate also allows the company to initiate procurement activities ahead of the 25-year SEOC contract term.
The Mariveles Solar Power facility will be located in Mariveles, Bataan, spanning approximately 72 hectares. According to a preliminary assessment by an independent third-party firm, the plant is expected to generate a peak output of at least 62 megawatts (MWp).
With the COA secured, Basic Energy Corporation will now move forward with the next steps in the development process. This includes obtaining approvals from relevant national agencies and local government units, as well as conducting a System Impact Study in collaboration with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
We are excited to advance the development of the Mariveles Solar Power Project and remain committed to providing updates as the project progresses. |
