Clarification of News Report

In the above news article, it was reported that:

“Renewable energy (RE) firm Alternergy Holdings Corp. announced that its wind subsidiary received certification from the Department of Energy (DOE) to push through with its developments for a 150-megawatt (MW) project in Batangas.

"In a statement on Friday, May 2, Alternergy Wind Holdings Corp. (AWHC) said it received a second onshore wind certificate of authority (COA) from the DOE, allowing it to pursue wind development at a 3,807-hectare (ha) site in the said province.

"The COA would grant AWHC an exclusive right to explore and assess wind resources in the areas of Batangas City and the municipality of Lobo to determine the prospects of a new wind project.

"Under the COA, AWHC was deemed duly qualified following sufficient compliance with the requirements set forth in Department Circular (DC) No. 2024-06-0018 and to conduct pre-feasibility studies,’ it stated.

"Under the COA, AWHC has three years to complete the pre-feasibility studies and permitting activities from government agencies, and if the project site is proven commercially viable, the COA will be converted into a 25-year wind energy service contract,’ the company added.
This certification followed after the DOE awarded the wind subsidiary a COA for its Albay exploration, with a similar capacity of 150 MW last March.

"According to Alternergy, this would help the company’s goal to reach 500 MW by next year."
