We write concerning the online article titled "Game on! Kevin Tan’s Newport Resorts gears up to clash in P200-B online casino frenzy" posted in Bilyonaryo.com on May 18, 2025.
Information Requested
We reply to the Exchange’s Query in relation to an investor’s request for a clarification on the news article entitled "Game on! Kevin Tan’s Newport Resorts gears up to clash in P200-B online casino frenzy" posted in Bilyonaryo.com on May 18, 2025. In the said article, it was reported in part that: “Newport World Resorts, helmed by bilyonaryo Kevin Tan, is tuning up its gaming app to get a slice of the booming online casino pie. A Babbler said Newport’s app, quietly soft-launched a few months back, is getting a major makeover. The new version, dropping in the next few months, promises to bring together all the gaming goodies under one slick platform as Newport dives headfirst into the online gaming arena — a sector now raking in half of the total casino revenues. . . . .” We clarify the foregoing statements as follows: 1. Newport World Resorts is strengthening its online gaming system and platform to be able to compete in the online gaming segment of the Philippine gaming industry. There is no new gaming application for launching. 2. The "new version" refers to an enhanced and strengthened gaming system and platform, not a gaming application. 3. The online gaming segment, based on reported Q1 performance, is estimated to reach Php200 billion in gross gaming revenues this year. The Php200B is not an infusion of Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc.. 4. Newport World Resorts' improved gaming revenue from online gaming will positively impact over all revenue of Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. and AGI.
