Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) announces with deep sadness the passing of Mr. Cesar A. Buenaventura (CAB), one of the longest-serving members of our Board of Directors, on December 10, 2025. For 25 years, CAB provided SMPC with steady leadership and expertise drawn from his decades of experience in engineering, energy, and national development. His counsel was instrumental in guiding the Company through major transitions—from operational expansion to the integration of power assets—helping strengthen SMPC’s role as a contributor to the country’s energy security. CAB was known for his clarity of thought, principled leadership, and deep patriotism, which he demonstrated throughout his distinguished service in government and the private sector. We honor his contributions and the legacy he leaves behind. The Board, Management, and employees of Semirara Mining and Power Corporation extend their heartfelt condolences to his family.
