CNPF Pledges Another 1 Million Coconut Seedlings to Smallholder Farmers with Coco Mama Save Our Coconuts

Background/Description of the Disclosure

Century Pacific Food, Inc. (PSE:CNPF), through its packaged coconut cream brand, Coco Mama, commits to donating one million coconut seedlings to smallholder coconut farmers to be planted over the next five years with its Save Our Coconuts program. Implemented in partnership with impact organization, HOPE, the seedlings will help replace aging trees and boost farm productivity while helping secure sustainable supply for the coconut business. Together with Vita Coco, a global leader in coconut water and CNPF’s long-term export customer, the two companies have pledged a collective two million coconut seedlings for donating and planting nationwide.

Bryan Lingan, General Manager of CNPF’s Emerging Brands such as Coco Mama, said, “About 20% of the Philippines’ coconut tree population are aging already, meaning yields are severely declining. At the same time, smallholder coconut farmers are among the most marginalized with limited resources to sustain their livelihoods. By donating and planting 1 million quality seedlings we hope to build a more resilient coconut supply chain where farming communities, the environment, and the business can mutually benefit and thrive.”

This pledge marks the second million contributed by CNPF. Back in 2022, CNPF, together with GCash and HOPE, donated and planted 1 million coconut seedlings to help strengthen the local coconut industry and uplift farmer livelihoods. In 2026, Coco Mama is taking on the responsibility with an undertaking of 1 million seedlings and further supplementing this with farmer education and market access support through HOPE.

Ilusion Farias, Managing Director of HOPE, remarked, “We’re looking forward to continuing this commitment with CNPF. From CNPF’s first million and now onto the next million trees, what keeps us going are the smallholder farmers whose lives we get to touch.”

Apart from Coco Mama, Vita Coco, a long-standing partner of CNPF and HOPE, has matched the brand’s commitment, also pledging 1 million seedlings in the Philippines. This initiative is part of their Seedlings for Sustainability program to help distribute and plant up to 10 million coconut trees worldwide by 2030.

John Tran, Vice President of Social Impact and Sustainability at Vita Coco, shared, “We are glad that CNPF, Vita Coco, and HOPE are working towards a shared vision of helping to revitalize coconut trees and support farming communities. We believe that when values are aligned, it strengthens the partnership and enables us to do more together.”

On World Coconut Day, last September 2, Coco Mama launched the commitment with a ceremonial tree planting activity in General Santos City. Members of the local farming community and the Coco Mama team were joined by representatives from HOPE, Vita Coco, Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures Inc. (CPAVI), the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), as well as brand ambassador, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, during the inaugural event.

CNPF entered the packaged coconut cream segment in 2019 with the launch of Coco Mama. Since then, Coco Mama has helped develop the nascent category, increasing household penetration and growing into the country’s leading coconut cream brand.
