At the meeting of the Board of Directors of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (“Maynilad” or the “Company”) held in the afternoon of 4 November 2026, the Board acknowledged the retirement of Mr. Ramoncito S. Fernandez as a Director and President and CEO of the Company effective 31 December 2026. In the same meeting, the Board elected Mr. Ramon B. Alikpala as a Director and as President and CEO effective 1 January 2027.

Mr. Fernandez has served as the Company’s President and CEO since 1 January 2016. Before joining Maynilad, Mr. Fernandez held leadership roles across First Pacific Group’s packaging, telecommunications, tollways, infrastructure, and water businesses, spanning the period from 1997.

Among the significant milestones achieved during Mr. Fernandez’s tenure were the execution of the Revised Concession Agreement, which placed the Company’s operations and investment program on a renewed long-term footing, the grant of a 25-year legislative franchise to the Company effective 22 January 2022, and the Company’s successful Initial Public Offering (“IPO”) on 7 November 2025, which, at the time of listing, was the second largest IPO in Philippine history, raising a total of Php34.3 billion in capital. The Company’s IPO generated very strong investor demand with 2.7 times over subscription. Additionally, Maynilad is the first company to be awarded a Green Equity label by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

To succeed Mr. Fernandez to be the Company’s next President and CEO effective 1 January 2027 is Mr. Alikpala.

Mr. Alikpala brings extensive experience in the water sector and the MWSS concession framework having been the Executive Director of the National Water Resources Board and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System.

Beyond his government service, Mr. Alikpala had been actively involved in regional, international, and non-government water sector organizations. Mr. Alikpala served as Chairman of the ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management, Chairman of the Philippine Water Partnership, and a member of the International Steering Committee of the Global Water Partnership in Stockholm, Sweden. He has also provided advisory and consulting services to development institutions, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on water security, climate resilience, institutional reform, utility performance, and water and sanitation projects.

Mr. Alikpala was the Chief Executive Officer of FutureWater Asia, an organization that assists government agencies, local governments and water utilities in addressing water and sanitation challenges through institutional reforms, appropriate technologies, private-sector financing, investment preparation, and international best practices.

Mr. Alikpala also serves on the Board of the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, which supports initiatives in water stewardship, environmental sustainability, waste management, and community development. He also served as Chairman and President of Better with Water Philippines, part of an international nonprofit initiative dedicated to expanding access to safe, affordable water and sanitation for underserved communities. He also served on the Advisory Council of Imagine H2O Asia, a Singapore-based water innovation accelerator that helps develop and scale water technology startups and bring innovative solutions to water and climate challenges across Asia-Pacific.

Mr. Alikpala holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines, and a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance at Fordham University, New York, USA. He likewise completed Certifications in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics and Integrated Water Resource Management from the World Bank Institute in Zaragoza, Spain.
