Background/Description of the Disclosure
Press release entitled "URC Q3 2026 OPERATING INCOME ACCELERATES TO 14%, OUTPACING A SOLID REVENUE GROWTH"
Other Relevant Information
Universal Robina Corporation (“URC”) reported third-quarter 2026 sales of Php41.4 billion, up 7% year-on-year, accelerating from the first half and bringing nine-month revenue to Php130.7 billion, up 5%. Branded businesses sustained volume despite pressure on consumer purchasing power, supported by strong demand, sustained brand investment, disciplined pricing, broad distribution, and superior in-store execution. URC’s diversified international footprint also helped mitigate market-specific risks, while favorable foreign exchange movements further lifted reported results.
Operating income increased 14% year-on-year, outpacing sales growth. Earnings benefited from continuous margin expansion in the International business, improving Coffee economics, higher Flour contribution, and better Sugar and Renewables profitability coming from lower input costs and a more favorable product mix. These gains offset higher oil-related costs arising from the conflict in the Middle East.
Net income from continuing operations rose 10% to Php2.6 billion, while core net income attributable to parent increased 21% to Php2.4 billion, reflecting stronger operating earnings, disciplined cost management, and lower financing costs from prudent capital allocation.
