Subject of the Disclosure

TUGS participates in the salvage of MV Diamond Highway

Background/Description of the Disclosure

Harbor Star Shipping Services, Inc. (TUGS) participated in the salvage of MV Diamond Highway, a 200-meter car carrier ship. The said vessel caught fire close to Recto Bank in the West Philippine Sea. On 17 June 2019, TUGS’s MT Mimosa, as first salvor responder, conducted firefighting and then towed the abandoned MV Diamond Highway preventing said vessel from drifting to marine protected and populated areas. With the burning vessel in tow, MT Mimosa rendezvoused with TUGS’s MT Lucida, MT Markab, and MT Merak which continued the firefighting until the blaze was extinguished on 19 June 2019. TUGS later on released said vessel upon receipt of a letter of guarantee from the vessel’s insurers which responded to an agreement with the ship owners to arbitrate salvage remuneration subject to English law and jurisdiction. Harbor Star is currently engaged in obtaining a similar agreement for security and jurisdiction for the car cargo laden on board.

This is the first salvage job of TUGS for the year. In 2018, the salvage income of TUGS was P210 Million.

Other Relevant Information

The disclosure is a non-material Information since it is not expected to materially affect market activity and the price of TUGS's securities.
