Manila, Philippines – In response to changes in consumers’ purchasing patterns, leading food and beverage kiosk operator, Fruitas Holdings, Inc. (FHI), listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the symbol FRUIT, has agreed to acquire CocoDelivery to ramp up its delivery channel to serve its fresh and healthy products to more Filipinos.
CocoDelivery, initially launched in October 2018, currently delivers fresh coconut water supplied by Fruitasgroup Inc. Under FRUIT’s ownership, CocoDelivery’s hotline - #8COCO (Dial #82626) - will expand to be the single delivery hotline of FRUIT’s full product range.
This will include Fruitas fresh fruit juices, Buko Loco 100% pure coconut water, Soy & Bean soy products, De Original Jamaican patties, Sabroso Lechon, and more as they become part of Fruitas’ increasing food and beverage offerings. Filipinos are quickly adopting on-demand food delivery services.
The delivery channel, including its current partnerships with CocoDelivery and Grab, and Sabroso’s own delivery service, currently accounts for a high single digit percentage of FRUIT’s total sales. FRUIT intends for this to increase even further. FRUIT expects to immediately realize synergies from this acquisition, maximizing the utilization of the combined motorcycle fleet of FRUIT and CocoDelivery and consolidating the marketing of FRUIT’s delivery service.
Selected stores within FRUIT’s more than 1,000-strong network will also serve as hubs for fulfilling delivery orders. FRUIT will leverage its years of successful logistics experience from the delivery of both raw and finished materials to its own and franchised stores nationwide. The #8COCO hotline (Dial #82626) will be initially available from 9am to 7pm in Metro Manila.
“We look forward to #8COCO (Dial #82626) being the default contact number for Filipinos to order fresh and healthy products for themselves, family and friends. The objective of this acquisition is to deliver products which will nourish our customers’ overall wellness at the convenience of their own homes, place of work or any desired location,” said FHI President and Chief Executive Officer, Lester Yu.
