Resignation of Alexander Ace Sotto as Director, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer and Appointment of Anthony Vincent S. Sotto as President and Chief Executive Officer
Background/Description of the Disclosure
In a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors held on September 2, 2021, Mr. Alexander Ace Sotto tendered his resignation as director and Acting President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company, effective immediately. The Board of Directors accepted his resignation. The Chairman noted that he will stay on and continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Company. The Chairman then opened the table for nominations for a new director and for a new President and CEO. After further discussion, Atty. Anthony Vincent S. Sotto was nominated for election as director to fill in the vacancy in the Board, and for appointment as President and CEO of the Company, effective immediately. Atty. Anthony Vincent S. Sotto has been with the 8990 Group for almost 18 years and has the same years of experience in the real estate development industry. Prior to his joining the Company, he was an associate lawyer for Solis and Medina Law Offices. In 2003, he joined the Company as an Assistant General Manager and served as such for eight years. Thereafter, he became the General Manager of 8990 Housing Development Corporation and served as such for seven years. He then assumed the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer in June 2019. Atty. Sotto acquired his Bachelor of Laws in the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus in 2001, and was admitted to the Philippine bar in September 2001.
